Anniversary Surprise

A cousin of mine was totally flabbergasted recently when her children surprised her and her husband on their fortieth wedding anniversary. Not only did they throw them a wonderful party with friends and family, but they convinced their dad to look at anniversary rings in diamond settings that would make her heart beat faster.

Their girls ended up taking him shopping. Each time a jewelry store clerk asked, “May I help you?” one girl would divert their father’s attention while one of the other two said, “We’re looking for diamond rings in gold, platinum, silver or titanium — for an anniversary ring.”

By the end of the day, their dad was exhausted, but feeling very proud of himself. He never quite understand how completely his daughters had manipulated him into getting the perfect ring. He actually believed he did it all on his own!

The anniversary ring he bought her is a platinum band with a row of diamonds around the entire band in the “eternity ring” style. My friend was thrilled, her husband was gloating and their children showed them both how much they were loved.

Last Minute Booking

I wanted to do give something special to my wife for mother’s day - not something dumb like a new spoon. She is a very good mother to our children, and I think that she deserves a present fitting of a good mother.

What I wanted to do was surprise her with a vacation for the two of us away from the kids for a much needed break - we both work jobs and are parents too.

So, I have been looking online for some sort of travel package that she would enjoy. She always talks about the time that she went on a cruise so I thought that it could be a good idea.

I was able to book us on a Celebrity Cruises ship for a two week cruise in October. I know that it is a ways off yet, but once she sees what she will be getting for a present, she will be excited. I will be too, as I have never gone on a cruise ship before in my life - it will be a first for me.

Easy Shopping This Year

I was at a craft fair right before Christmas and there was a gentleman that was selling custom signs. They were very unique and different and I thought they would make wonderful Christmas gifts. It was something out of the ordinary and would be something to give that would be totally unexpected.

Every year I have issues trying to come up with a gift for Mom and Dad and every year I end up giving them a gift certificate of some sort. This year was different. The man had a vast variety of yard signs and I figured a nice sign with Mom and Dad’s last name on it would be a great gift. And, believe it or not, it was something that they did not already have.

For the younger crowd, there was also a great assortment of magnetic car signs. These had some cute and funny sayings and you could also have these made to order with your name on them. I purchased a lot of things from him that night and I have his business card handy for when I need to order again. I can totally see myself being his best customer.
