Looking for Free Hosting

I have always loved the fact that you can put up your own website for next to nothing in terms of a cash investment. In fact, you could technically do it for free, but I don’t want to have some subdomain on a site that I don’t control.

So, when I setup a site, I make sure to buy my own domain name. That way, all my marketing efforts benefit me and no one else, and it allows me to develop an asset that I may eventually sell. Though I have only ever sold one site, it at least gives me an exit strategy for when I want to sell it - if it was on a subdomain, it wouldn’t be an option.

I have just picked out a good domain name, now I just need to find some hosting for it. It will be a content site based on a CMS that uses PHP, so I am looking for a free PHP hosting provider that will be able to suit my needs. So far, no luck, but I think I will find something before the day is over.

Training to be a Website Designer

Since our last website designer quit a couple of months ago, our company has been unable to fill his place. The company creates a large number of content sites for revenue, and without a designer, we are in trouble.

Last week at a board meeting, it was decided that I was going to be the new website designer because of my creative abilities. Sure, I don’t have a clue on how to make a web menu, let alone a website, but they had a solution for that as well.

Our company recently purchased some quick and easy web design software so that I would be able to create professional site designs without initially needing to know how to code. In fact, it was looking like it was going to be a drag and drop style of web design, which would make my job that much easier.

Needless to say, I do have some learning ahead of me if I am going to take the role as head website designer.

A Better Way to Market a Website

I’ll be the first to admit that my website promotion strategy is just not the greatest. In fact, it isn’t even planned out to any extent - I just do a little bit here and a little bit there.

Now, I do get some results, but not to the extent that I hope for. In fact, I would almost argue that my results have been very lackluster and I am a bit disappointed. With the number of websites that I do own, I would think that my income should be higher.

It wasn’t until I learned about Internet marketing systems that my traffic really took off. I mean, if you know the right way to do things, and spend your time on tasks that help your business, it should make a difference, right?

Well it has for me. No longer am I just haphazardly doing things, but now I have a plan. Since I have done this, I have not only had more time for my family, but I have also had more money to play with. That is what we all want, right?
